How is tongue cancer treated?
The most commonly used treatment modalities are as follows:
- SURGERY: It is the process of removing the cancer by surgery. During this operation, the lymph nodes that may spread in the neck are also removed in the same session. It is the most accepted and most successful treatment method all over the world.
- RADIOTHERAPY In accordance with the joint decision of your Radiation Oncologist and Head and Neck Surgeon, radiotherapy may be required after surgery.
- CHEMOTHERAPY: It is usually used in combination with radiotherapy. It may need to be given in addition to radiotherapy after surgery. Chemotherapy drugs target cancer cells circulating throughout the body.
