Frequently Asked Questions

Is a biopsy necessary for salivary gland tumours?
About 80% of salivary gland tumours originate in the salivary gland in front of the ear called the parotid gland. The parotid gland is a major gland, one in front of each ear, responsible for a significant portion of our saliva secretion. It has an important role in the amount and content of saliva. In tumours in the parotid gland, radiological imaging is primarily required. In the presence of suspicious findings during diagnosis, needle biopsy is necessary.
