Can Laryngeal Cancer Surgery Be Performed Without a Tracheostomy?

Laryngeal cancer is a serious, life-threatening disease. When caught at an early stage, the treatment of laryngeal cancer is highly effective. One of the best treatment methods is surgery. In the past, all patients required a temporary tracheostomy (a hole in the throat) during surgery. However, for the last 15 years, I have been performing laryngeal cancer surgeries without the need for a tracheostomy. In surgical treatment, I treat my patients using robotic surgery or laser surgery, depending on their suitability.
